Lorie Bronson, Pastoral Minister

Lorie Bronson, a St. Mary parishioner for more than 37 years, served as our Director of Faith Formation for eight years prior to her current role as Pastoral Minister.
She was born and raised by her parents in Monroe and with her eight siblings attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and school. After graduating from St. Mary Academy, she became a registered nurse and shortly thereafter married her husband, Terry. Their lives are enriched and blessed with their five children and three grandchildren.
Several years ago, when all of her children were in school, Lorie became aware of God’s call to serve the Church in new ways. With the encouragement and support of her family she returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Lourdes College in Sylvania Ohio and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. She is grateful for the education and formation these institutions have provided; preparing her for the ministry she continues to enjoy.
From a young age, she was drawn to the suffering of the poor, often reading about the work of missionaries in varying parts of the world. As an adult, she has been a part of several mission trips to areas whose populations are laden with physical poverty. Consequently, she finds it quite natural that much of her ministry in Monroe and St. Mary Parish is centered in Christian Service and outreach to those in our midst who suffer: the poor, those with “broken” lives, the sick and those who mourn.
Lorie invites and encourages you to partner in one of the many outreach initiatives that extend God’s love, care and mercy to those most in need. Get Involved, found on the home page of the parish’s website, shares a complete description of ministries you are invited to consider. If something touches your heart, know that more information is available, as well as a chance to “try on” any ministry that intrigues you. . . . feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, making prayer shawls for those who are sick, comforting the sorrowful . . . .
So . . . come along with us to welcome; to inspire; to transform; to serve; all done in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
