St. Mary Christian Women

Our meetings are usually on the first Thursday of each month, and we begin this new year with a potluck on Thursday, September 2, at 5:30 PM. Won’t you join us? Please call Anne Laboe at 242-2970 for more information, or talk to any Christian Women member.

St. Mary Christian Women are people on the go! Among the many tasks that make up their lively days, they:

• Host and serve funeral luncheons
• Raise money ( $2000-$3000 per year) for scholarships to St. Mary Grade School and SMCC with soup and salad luncheons and bake sales
• Raise money ( $4000-$5000 per year) for the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society with Lenten soup luncheons
• Help with the upkeep of the Parish Life Center, including the funding of supplies and maintenance
• Help to purchase vestments, altar linens, and religious vessels
• Host receptions for arriving and departing religious and clergy, for visiting dignitaries, and for gatherings after special liturgies
• Host activities at local nursing homes
• Regularly contribute food for GodWorks! community dinners
• Regularly contribute to Christian service trips and retreats taken by students at SMCC
• Regularly contribute to auctions at SMCC and St. Mary School
• Regularly contribute to Heartbeat of Monroe, St. Michael’s We Care, and Habitat for Humanity
• Help support the parish Rosary Makers All Chrisitan Women activities emanate from the central mission of the group, which is to enhance parish life by contributing labor and monies to various ministries in service to Jesus Christ and His Church. We welcome any women in the parish who would like to participate in some or all of these activities.
